Michel SLAMA, Amiens, France

Michel Slama MD, PhD is full Professor and chairman of critical care medicine in Amiens University Hospital. He is deputy head of the medical critical care unit. He has been the medical director of the Amiens University Hospital and the Vice Chancelor of the Amiens University. He published more than 150 publications, many books and book chapters. He was invited more than 200 times for conferences over the world (AHA, Chest, ESICM, ISICEM, CCM…). His main topics are hemodynamics, echocardiography in ICU, heart lung interactions, general and lung ultrasound, ARDS. Dr Michel Slama created and is involved in the European Diploma on critical care EChocardiography (EDEC) of the ESICM​.

Paul MAYO, New York, USA

Paul H. Mayo, MD FCCP, FASE. He is presently a frontline intensivist in the Northwell System in the New York City area, where he is academic director of care medicine and professor of clinical medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He has responsibility for the design and implementation of the national level courses on critical care ultrasonography sponsored by American College of Chest Physicians, and he serves on the writing committee and certification committee of the National Board of Echocardiography related to advanced critical care echocardiography. He has been faculty at numerous echocardiography courses for the ESICM, ISICEM, and the annual advanced echocardiography course in Brussels since 2008. He serves on committee with the EDEC group, and he is responsible for provision of advanced echocardiography training including TEE for many pulmonary/critical fellows at his home program. 

Antoine Vieillard-Baron, MD, PHD, Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris, France

Dr Vieillard-Baron is professor of Intensive Care. He is the head of the ICU in university hospital Ambroise Paré, Boulogne-Billancourt, France. He has written more than 300 peer reviewed articles in the reputed journals and very passionate about heart-lung interactions and echocardiography and its usefulness in the critical care. He created the European diploma in critical care echocardiography (EDEC) for ESICM for which he is the current General Secretary. He was past associated editor for Intensive Care Medicine journal and current associated editor for Annals of Intensive Care.

Dr. Milington is an intensive care specialist at The Ottawa Hospital and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He leads the point-of-care ultrasound program in Ottawa and teaches ultrasound around the world
